"A Prayer from the Stone People" poem
This world has changed
And though my eyes be stone
And still
They watch as seasons
Come and go
As trails and roads
Turn forgotten
If my mouth could but open
I would ask the world
Where have the travelers gone?
Though I cannot move
I will gladly stay
I will gladly sit and watch
And wait
Until they are allowed
To taste the sun again
I can wait forever
Until they wander my way
Once more.
